Abe didn't win the election. He won a poll done after the debate.

OHMYGOSH WHAT AN EPISODE!

Massey's acting was fucking amazing, but although I absoloutely HATE Sami..I did feel bad for her, Will was being pretty vulgar with her.. I think anyone with a heart could sympathize for Sami in that moment, but she definitely deserves it..we all know that. and I can't wait to watch the rest of the fallout.

I'm rather pissed that Abe won the election, i'v been rooting for EJ and Nicole since day one and now because Abe stole some questions, he wins? What ever happened to the big bad DiMera's, I thought they always get what the want?

Rafe and Carrie 'saved' a marriage and then five minutes later sabotaged their own, lmfao.

It seems like Will is going to start interacting with the gays in Salem, GOOD! I want some yummy gay love scenes on my screen. sooner the better
Ummm... Abe didn't win the election.
He won the poll about who won the debate. We still have yet to see election results.
Friday's show just pointed out that he won the popularity poll for that single debate.
EJ still has time to conquer! And I hope and pray that he will! TO HELL with HYPOCRITE ABE.

By the way, "WRITERS," while Abby is busy being a FLOOzIE as a model -- betraying her career path as a journalist -- a GOOD story would have been her getting a tip that Abe HACKED the debate questions, struggling with her conscience as to whether to file a story on that, and ultimately filing the story and having the Carvers turn against her, Abe end up in ruin, EJ winning the election and Abby's career advancing to even BIGGER stories of corruption and crime in Salem. But that would take FUCKING WRITING SKILLS, MarDar!

Not to mention the part Abigail's own mother played in tampering with the debate questions. Here's Jennifer, Abigail's role model for most of her life, betraying her Horton principles by stooping to lies and deception and justifying her actions as being for the greater good. Big ethical dilemma for Abigail: does she cover up the truth to protect her family, or does she blow the whistle on the Carvers and Jennifer? Jack could have been brought in on this too--he has no love for the diMeras, but would he really condone Jennifer and Abe's actions?

Alas, we're not getting anything as potentially dramatic and rich as the above scenario. But I will be highly disappointed if there's no fall-out for the ones who play dirty and are foolish enough to get caught at it.

I admit it... writing ain't easy. So I have to cut MarDar some slack. Then again, I only quickly came up with that scenario and completely forgot about the Jennifer angle, lol. THIS IS THEIR JOB, so it would be obvious to go down the list of character ramifications.

I truly believe viewers would flock to a "simpler" story like this than the supposed soap opera staple of sex and affairs and murder. It would throw viewers for a loop. A true suspenseful story that is simple but has several layers and ramifications. Will Abby report? Will Jennifer and Abe get caught? What happens with the election? What happens next? With the sex stories, we can usually figure out that it's going to be a baby that'll split the couple up or something easily predictable.

I just felt the need to get that out of my system. Those who know me well, can probably figure out what that is in refernce to. Those who don't, it's either that or violate out Code of Conduct because I was feeling the strong need to point out that more than one person is a fucking idiot.

I feel much better now, thank you for asking. :peace:

With no day ahead previews, can we please get the long opening back?

Massey and Sweeney brought it in their scenes today. Kudos to both actors. I loved all of the history that was brought up. At first, I didn't take Will's line about Sami ruining the family he's always wanted with Rafe. There was a time when Sami and Lucas were married and were a family with Will. However, thinking back, Will was hardly around during Sami and Lucas' marriage. He was away at summer camp and then they sent him to Switzerland to live with Austin and Carrie. So what Will said is true. The only real happy family life he's ever had was with Rafe as Sami's husband. I know many Lucas fans don't like this, but it's fact. Lucas hasn't been there for his kids for years. If anything, Will should be somewhat resentful towards Lucas when he comes back. At least he should be.

I wonder if we're going to get to see Will go to the party with Karim and Dustin.

Rafe and Carrie's kiss was a little too much for me. I feel like it should've been a lot more innocent. It really did look like they were ready to take each other right there on Carrie's desk at any moment. Great cliffhanger with Sami arriving in time to catch them in the lock. Friday cliffhangers return!

Anyone else think the woman moderating the debates sounded a lot like Kristian Alfonso? I kept expecting to see Hope every time I heard her voice. Weird.
I can't see Will being resentful of Lucas, pretty much the reason he's not in town can be drawn back to what he did for him and why he went to prison. Lucas life started spiraling out of control when he married Sami and Ej made it impossible for them to be happy, then Will shoots Ej and it all went to hell in a handbasket.

Will WOULD have had a happy family with his parents and the twins IF EJ hadn't blackmailed Sami into marrying him and if Will hadn't shot EJ. Two things that Lucas had no control over, if he needs to basically blame anyone for not having a happy family he could realistically point the finger back to himself.
I disagree. Lucas is a grown man. He doesn't need to "run away" from his problems to Hong Kong, even thought it really does fit with who the character is and always has been. "Mama's Little Boy." Lucas should be in town raising his children. He has a little girl that's already going to be fucked up given all of the attention that's given to her brother and sister. She gets none. The attention she should get from her father, she doesn't. And then people get mad when Rafe steps in as Allie's father. He has to be there for her because Lucas sure isn't, living his great life in Hong Kong. There needs to be some effect from Lucas being away all of the time. I think it's a cop out for him to come home and his children act like he just went away on a weekend business trip. He's been gone for 2 years! I can't even imagine how long that is in DAYS/SORAS time.
No doubt he should be in town raising his kids and that has been my biggest problem with him being gone, but then again it's a problem we experience when the character is written out. I would never buy that he wouldn't return for Will's HS graduation (not even send a gift)...but hey Kate was in Salem and she couldn't make it either....it's obvious what occurred, but I can't help that...just like many here were complaining that Marlena didn't even bother calling Sami when Grace died....or when Syd was kidnapped. It's a problem we face though and I guess we just have to go with the flow.

I do wish it's bought up in conversation with Will when Lucas returns, it's another layer they can have Will play out while he continues to spiral, but I can't see Will holding a long grudge against his father, he really needs to realize what the guy did for him and how he sacrificed everything so Will can be off the hook.

I have a very easy explanation that Lucas can provide for purposely not returning to Salem before now....maybe the fact that if Lucas stuck around much longer after Will got back to Salem, suspicions would have been raised, something might have leaked and the threat would have existed and endangered Will even more....who knows....we all know stuff happens and people overhear things in Salem...that's the way everything is disclosed. So if Lucas wants to say that he stayed away to PROTECT his son, then I can also buy that too.

I know. I'm taking the lack of Melanie screen time hard, too.

Loved this episode...Chandler and Ali were the clear MVP's...Both kicked it out of the ballpark...Great dialog and wonderful acting..What a great reveal. Also, loved that we finally got a big cliffhanger with Sami catching Rafe and Carrie kissing. Finally, some big movement on this show.

Also, really starting to enjoy the mayor story. It has had some boring parts, but I have to commend the writers on giving Abe and Lexie a frontburner storyline..And I could watch EJ and Nicole do anything..I just adore James and Ari together..Also, I can stand Jennifer when she isn't around Daniel.

i loved monday's episode. this week's shows were pretty good. i just want ej to tell the truth to nicole already. Friday's episode was the greatest of them all. Im so happy to see sami's downfall. I loved the madison and sami scenes too. It's good that Madison dropped her sabotage plan. I loved the scenes that will had with everyone. I loved the jack and abby scenes. It was so good to see a pippi and dr. tan free week. also that couch needs to go it looks ridiculous. i still feel there is too much HTS. I liked the election stuff also. I definitely think it was time for Will to move out because he is too old live with his mom. I hope we see his apartment. I also cant wait till kate tortures sami at work. I could hardly give a damm about alice's secerts anymore. I dont care about Cafe either carrie is a fucken fool she finally had the man of her dreams and she does it.

Finally got around to watching this show, and WOW, such a fantastic episode! I absolutely LOVED all of the Will/Sami scenes. Sami looked so incredibly lame trying to justify what she did with EJ, and Will was having none of that crap. And that last scene was so powerful. LOVED the way Will physically shoved Sami out of his way. So incredible, and Chandler did such an AMAZING job in those scenes! :hail:

And then Sami walking in on Carrie and Rafe. LOL! What a perfect way to end the episode! It was so fun being able to laugh at Sami in this episode instead of wanting to throw something at her. Oh and BTW, loved the Cafe kiss. I'm an Austin/Carrie fan, but I also like Rafe/Carrie, so I'm a bit torn. But I wouldn't mind Cafe mixing things up for a little while. ;)

Didn't really watch the mayor stuff because unfortunately I'm not all that interested in that story. But otherwise, a really great episode, one that I enjoyed immensely. :cheer:

Finally watched this episode and my reaction? Meh. FF'd through most of it. Stopped a few times to watch Nic/EJ and Sami/Will. On the former, I was just fed up with EJ constantly lying to Nicole and she not completely calling him out on his shit (and this is coming from someone who absolutely loves EJ).

On the latter (Sami/Will), I was just annoyed with Will's hysterics. I'm so sick of the tears and the dramatic anger. I liked him better during the holiday episode when he got drunk and was being snarky. I can take angry snark by a teen, but not hysteria, snot, and tears. And I'm sorry as much as I understand the character being angry at Sami, I wanted her to slap the living hell out of him when he called her a whore.

Days your still not making me want to actually watch this show sans the use of my ff button.

Finally delurking to say CM is outstanding and AS is just as bad as when she first came on this show to annoy me. Her "acting" has not changed one bit since "I saw you". Well, except for the addition of growling to show emotion. Was it not TYPICAL for her to immediately ask if Will was going to tell Rafe? Bitch. I wish Will had slapped her. Yes, people should respect their parents. But Sami is not a parent. Will is the parent. I am surprised he is not drooling in an institution somewhere or on death row for being a serial killer with that swine as a so-called mother.

In fact, I just wish he's stabbed her, Tony Baekeland style, and ordered Chinese while waiting for the cops.

As much as I hate everything on DAYS right now, Friday's was great (for what DAYS is right now.)

I think I forgot to mention that during my ranting.

Will pushing Sami was great. I wish he'd throw her out a winda!
